Residential Research On Green Living, Guiding The Way To A Safer, Better Future!
I’ve spent years making our household more green and want to share with you both the successes and the failures, hopefully saving you a lot of time and money. This is what happened to us in the real world. This is my attempt to light the way for others behind me on this path to a better future.

What We Do

I want to share information about residential solar energy options, like solar panels, solar hot air boxes (STHABs), tiny battery systems, solar ovens, charging your cell phone and emergency radio and light devices. And anything else I can find!

I’m trying to figure out how to provide a serious amount of fresh food from our residential urban lot year-round. We have six 4′ x 8′ raised beds, a 10′ x 12′ leaky cheap greenhouse, a 500 gallon water catchment system, and indoor hydroponics. I’d like to figure out how to use our sun porch for food production, but haven’t gotten that far yet.

We drive two electric vehicles – a 2013 Chevy Volt and a 2016 Nissan Leaf. Which one is better, what are the differences? Check out the blogs for more information.
